What is AMARC?

AMARC is a global NGO (in consultative status with ECOSOC) serving the community radio movement, with almost 2 500 members and associates in 106 countries. Our three official languages are French, Spanish, and English. Our international headquarters is in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and we have regional coordinators in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Oceania.

AMARC defends the universal human right to communicate at the international, national, local, and neighborhood level. We promote democratic communication as an essential element of effective democracies. We provide hands-on training, technical assistance, and networking opportunities to radio broadcasters and producers. AMARC-WIN has its own officers and projects, in addition to participating in all the general activities of AMARC.
