The World March Of Women In The Year 2000 Official International Media Launch In Over 50 Countries
The World March launch is going to be simultaneously webcast on RDI, the Canadian Broadcast Corporations francophone all-news channel, starting at 10AM.

"Women Make The News" Operation For International Women's Day
In aid of this year's International Women's Day, UNESCO Director-General Koïchiro Matsuura has launched an appeal to the media:
"By drawing attention to the glass ceiling that still limits the number of women journalists who rise to key editorial positions in the media, UNESCO is pursuing the commitment made at the 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995 to defend equal professional opportunities for women."
UNESCO invites media organisations to register their participation in the initiative through the newly created Website (www.unesco.org/march8).

The NCADV's (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence) 2nd Annual National Lobby Day
Come to Washington, DC on International Women’s Day and have your voice be heard! This is your opportunity to meet with your Representatives and Senators to discuss the needs of battered women in your area. Remember – every Congressperson wants to know how violence against women affects her or his constituency.
